Shaporenko S.I.

These ponds were part of a fairly large hydrological system, which also included the Golovinsky pond (located on the territory of the city hospital) with stream, rivers Istra and Zolotushka (Kedron stream), which served as sources of water supply of fish ponds and drainage channels. Analysis of the available materials of the investigation of the remnants of this hydrological system with the involvement of archival sources, as well as the General regularities of the historical development of fish-breeding in Russia, allow to assume, that the most effective fishery here was achieved in the second half of the XIX century.
