History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Hydrological Aspects of History of Hydrological System Near the New Jerusalem Monastery Shaporenko S.I. According to the results of investigations it is described the current state of the hydrological system near the walls of the New Jerusalem monastery (town Istra), which included two cascades of ponds. Оne of which destined for fish farming in the economic zone, the other – on the Golovin stream – was the main source of water supply. Hydrological system also included the adjoining plot of river Istria, the water supply and outlet channels, called river Zolotushka and Kidron stream. Hydrologic calculations and involving archival sources allowed to approximate the hydraulic characteristics of the hydrological regime in the past, that can be used for its restoration.
