History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Experience High School Management Industry Smyk A.F. The article examines the formation of Automobile and Road Institutes in the USSR in the 1930 in terms of the reform of higher education. Draws attention to the features of the management of their activities by the People’s Commissariat of the industry – Tsudortrans, as well as the All-Union Committee for Higher Technical Education. Analyzes the negative aspects of branch management Automobile Road Institutes, among them the creation of haste almost simultaneously six universities without adequate logistical and laboratory facilities, lack of professors and teaching staff, poor presentation of the list of specialties. Initial period of formation of Automobile and Road Institutes held on the background mass repressions in the country that did not contribute to their normal activities.
