History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back ABOUT MAIN DIRECTIONS OF DEVELOPMENTOF COMBINATORIAL ANALYSIS IN XIX–XX CENTURIES A.E. Malykh Main directions of development of combinatorial analysis were examined. Historical process of accumulation and formation of combinatorial methods was described. Scientifi c contribution in creation of new directions of combinatorial analysis in XIX–XX centuries was indicated (K.-F. Hindenburg, G.A. Rothe, P.A. MacMahon, A. Cayley, J. Sylvester, D. Polja, Dj.-K. Rota and ets.). Structure of combinatorial analysis to the end of XX century was determined. Development of fi nite geometries was presented, their kinds were shown.
