Yevseyeva Review of basic biographical information and scientifi c achievements of all scientists awarded Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry and Physiology or Medicine for the year 2013 are submitted. Nobel Prize in Physics awarded to Belgian scientist François Englert and the legendary British researcher Peter Higgs for theoretical work helped explain the appearance of mass in elementary particles; The Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to American researcher Martin Karplus, British-Israeli and American Biophysics Michael Levitt, and the American- Israeli scientist Arieh Warshel for creating n-tier models of complex chemical systems; Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine awarded to two American researchers that are biochemist James Edward Rothman and cytologist Randy Wayne Schekman, as well as the German-American biochemist and neurobiologist Thomas Christian Südhof for the discovery of the mechanism of reg ulation of vesicular transport – the main transport system in our cells.
