History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back ECOLOGICAL AND BOTANICAL RESEARCH IN THE INSTITUTE FOR COMPLEX ANALYSIS OF REGIONAL PROBLEMS FAR EASTERN BRANCH RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES T.A. Rubtsova, D.M. Fetisov The main results of activities of the Institute for Complex Analysis of Regional Problems FEB RAS in the study of fl oral, phytocenotic and landscape diversity of the Amur Region as well as solving problems for their conservation are presented in the paper. The results of long-term studies of species richness of vascular plants in the Jewish Autonomous Region, rare plant species in the region, the quality of non-timber plant resources, vegetation specifi city of isolated mountain ranges of Central Amur Lowlands are given. The monitoring results for populations of one of the unique species in the Russian Far East – Nelumbo nucifera are shown. The history of the preparation and publication of the Jewish Autonomous Region’s Red Book and the recommendations of the Institute to optimize the network of nature reserves in the region are presented in the paper.
