Lebedev The general principle of creation of regional geoinformation complexes, its building blocks and concept of operation are presented and illustrated by the examples of solving major region-wide problems by applying remote sensing and ground based data. The technology of automated generation of integrated maps of ecosystem dynamics for forecast spring fl oods volume in Volga basin is presented. The traffi c fl ow at the centre of the Moscow, ecological state of territory subject to infl uence of the Moscow Ring Road and environmental aspects of preservation zones of water reservoirs are estimated.
