Article dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the fl ight of the aircraft RD-2 with engine M-34P, a perfect 12–15 September 1934 a crew of
M.M. Gromov, A.I. Filin and I.T. Spirin. Construction of the aircraft was carried out under the overall supervision of A.N. Tupolev responsible leader for the design and construction of the aircraft was P.O. Dry, creator of the motor – A.A. Mikulin. The aircraft set a world distance record in a broken line without fi lling of fuel in the air without landing. He was in the air 75 hours and at a distance of 12,411 kilometers showed an average speed of 165.48 km / h, which has become an international speed record at a distance of 10 000 km. Published documents are
permanently stored in the branch of Federal State Institution «Russian State Archive of Scientifi c and Technical Documentation». Published for the fi rst time.
