Myakonkiy At the time of Great Patriotic war, especially the fi rst years, the most soviet surgeons had insuffi cient knowledge and experience in military surgery. Among the various forms of professional development of military surgical conferences dominated. Heads of the medical service of the Red Army organized surgeon conferences in different parts of the military health service. Surgeons had an opportunity to analyze medical errors, to learn new methods of treatment, to share experiences. The value of scientific conferences to increase the training of surgeons observed direct participants of the conferences and the leadership of the medical service of the Red Army.
