History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back VITALY V. DOLIVODOBROVOLSKY - A WORTHY REPRESENTATIVE OF THE OLDEST NOBLE FAMILY DOLIVO-DOBROVOLSKY M.K. Surnina The article is devoted to one of the representatives of the ancient noble Russian-Polish family V.V. Dolivo-Dobrovolsky, and in particular, his work in the Great Patriotic War. V.V. Dolivo-Dobrovolsky – Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Deputy Director of the Institute Mekhanobr met war in Leningrad, where he spent the first months of the siege. He fought as a volunteer in the militia, and then was evacuated to Sverdlovsk, where he actively engaged in scientific research and has made a signifi cant contribution to the development of chemical methods to study the composition and processing of mineral raw materials, the study of natural resources of the Urals and Kazakhstan. He developed the original methods of the study of ores formed the basis for the school he founded in evaluation of mineral resources as objects of concentration. The works of this school were the basis for the development of technological schemes of enrichment plants under construction. Great contribution was made by V.V. Dolivo-Dobrovolsky in the study of the kinetics of heterogeneous processes that defi ned the theoretical bases of leaching processes in hydrometallurgy. It has many national awards.
