History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back ENCLOSED SETTLEMENTS OF THE KARAGAILYAYAT RIVER BASIN THROUGH THE PRISM OF THE MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH L.N. Koryakova, R. Krauze, S.V. Ankushev The paper briefl y presents the results of a multidisciplinary study of enclosed settlements of the fi rst third of the second millennium BC, located in the valley of the river Karagaili-Ayat in the south of the Chelyabinsk region. These settlements belong to the Sintashta archaeological culture, the sites of which were discovered in the 1970s and attracted researchers with their uncharacteristic for this region form and structure. The results and materials obtained during the research made it possible to illuminate various aspects and conditions of life of the inhabitants of settlements, as well as reconstruct certain moments of their history.
