History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back INSTITUTIONAL BASISOF THE SOVIET ATOMICPROJECT’S PERSONNELPOLICY N.V. Melnikova The reconstruction of the events connected with the Soviet atomic project has key value for clearing of many features of Russian history in the second half of the 20th century. The article is devoted to the evolution of the structures and persons which were responsible for solution of the personnel questions at various stages of the USSR’s atomic project. This subject does not have comprehensive coverage in historiography. The author analyses the staffi ng practices, ways, methods and the scales of the manpower’s involvement. Such an angle allows not only to show the changing project’s place in the Soviet managerial and economic system, but to raise the issue of the originality of the latter.
