History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back TO THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SCIENTIST: D.L. RAKHMANKULOV’S SCIENTIFIC HERITAGE S.Yu. Shavshukova, E.A. Udalova, N.N. Mikhailova The article presents the results of scientific activity of academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan D.L. Rakhmankulov (1939–2008), Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor of Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU) in the field of history of science and technology. D.L. Rakhmankulov was a widely erudite man, a talented scientist, organizer and leader. In the USPTU he founded scientific school of chemistry and technology of cyclic acetals and their N-, O-, S- and Si-containing analogues, whose representatives became famous scientists and professors of Bashkir’s universities. In 1971–1993 D.L. Rakhmankulov headed the Department of General and Analytical chemistry, in 1977–1993 he was Vicerector for scientific work of USPTU, one of the founders of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan (1991). In the 1990s he founded the scientifi c school «Modern problems of the history of natural science in the fi eld of chemistry, chemical technology and petroleum industry». Students of D.L. Rakhmankulov honor his memory and continue to develop scientific ideas of the Professor.
