History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back REVIEW OF TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION ON THE HISTORY OF RADIUM PRODUCTION IN THE KOMI ASSR IN 1931–1953 L.P. Roshchevskaya Technical documents on the history of the country's only enterprise for the deposition of radium from mineral water and the production of radium concentrate, the Water Fishery in the Komi ASSR (1931–1956), have been identified. Tasks are set: to characterize technical documents as sources for the creation of unique equipment, continuous improvement of the production process and scientific research. It was concluded that the technical documents were not fully preserved, since they had been destroyed in the course of decontamination or taken to the head ministry. The documents preserved in local archives make it possible to reconstruct the activities of the enterprise, highlight permanent creative contacts with institutions and research assistants of the USSR Academy of Sciences, and show previously unknown events in the history of the Water industry.
