History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back ON THE 125th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE POWER PLANT ENGINEER SMIRNOV N.V. ON THE 12th LINE OF VASILIEVSKY ISLAND V.A. Petrushchenkov The article is devoted to the history of the construction and operation of the power plant engineer Smirnov Nikolai Vasilyevich, put into operation in December 1894, as well as the personality of its Creator. In 2019, the 125th anniversary of the commissioning of this power plant will be celebrated. A brief overview of the results of professional activity of Smirnov N. V. is also presented.As the main sources of information, documents from the archives of the Russian state, St. Petersburg, as well as publications in the open press of the late 19th and early 20th centuries are used.
