History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back LABORATORY OF PALEOZOIC STRATIGRAPHY ON FATHERL AND SERVICE O.V. Artyushkova, R.R. Yakupov The laboratory of the Paleozoic Stratigraphy is the oldest at the Institute of Geology. It was set up in 1955. The regional stratigraphicpaleontological school in the South Urals was found due the outstanding scientists-paleontologists who were offered work at the Laboratory. Since the beginning, the Laboratory of Paleozoic Stratigraphy was occupied with stratigraphy and paleontology questions of Paleozoic deposits in the South Urals and nearby territories. Modern research include the generalization of all paleontological data and the development of updated detailed regional stratigraphic schemes of the Ordovician, Silurian and Devonian on micropaleontological remains of conodonts and chitinozoans.
