RESULTS OF L. EULER ON THE THEORY OF THE BETA FUNCTION |
I.V. Ignatushina
This article is devoted to a review of Leonhard Euler's results on the theory of the B-function. In his studies, this theory served as a kind of foundation on which he built the theory of another important transcendental function, namely the gamma function. The role of other scientists who developed these theories after him consisted mainly in systematizing Euler's results, presenting the material from a unified point of view, and also in extending the B- and T-functions to the case of a complex variable.
