Zyleva The article analyzes the types of earrings in the complex of women’s folk costume according to the principle of shaping and weaving features from river pearls of the Northern provinces of the Russian Empire. General information about pearls and their use in jewelry is given. The shaping of earrings, which was formed by artists and craftsmen, is revealed. The materials used by the masters to make their masterpieces are described. The article reveals the technique of catching and extracting pearls from the shell.
