Zentsov The activities of the leadership of our country on the organization and development of oil refining on the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the 1930s are presented in chronological order. It is shown that the quality of oil sent for processing has caused corrosive wear and necessitated solving the problem of protecting equipment and pipelines. It was the high sulfur content in the produced oil that was the impetus for the emergence of the production of corrosion inhibitors in subsequent years.
