SCIENTOMETRIC ANALYSES OF NOMINATIONS FOR NOBEL PRIZES. 5. NOMINEES AND NOMINATORS FOR THE NOBEL PRIZE IN PHYSIOLOGY OR MEDICINE (1911–1950). PART 2 |

Detailed data on the nomination of candidates for the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for 1911–1950 are presented. based on declassified documents of the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine in Stockholm. It is shown that representatives of 42 countries have been nominated for 50 years: 842 scientists 5796 times (an average of about seven nominations per scientist). 59 scientists from the following countries received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine: 13 from the USA, 9 from United Kingdom, 8 from Germany, 4 from France, 4 from Denmark, 4 from Switzerland, 3 from Austria, 2 from Canada, 2 from the Netherlands, 2 from Belgium, 1 from Russia (USSR) (without I.I.Mechnikov), 1 from Italy, 1 from Spain, 1 from Sweden, 1 from Tunisia, 1 from Hungary, 1 from Argentina, and 1 person from Portugal. 5020 nominators have been established. The absence of correlation between the total number of nominations of this scientist and the award of the prize was confirmed. It is shown who was nominated by all Soviet nominators from 1926 to 1950.
