History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Academic Content of Cultural Heritage in the Siberian Region: Institutions Named After Outstanding Scientists Kupershtokh N.A. The article presents the main approaches to the study of such a form of cultural heritage as the activities of the institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, named after outstanding scientists. The scientifi c heritage of outstanding Russian scientists is a most valuable component of modern culture, which requires comprehensive study and development. Thanks to scientists, fundamental results have been achieved, scientifi c schools have been founded, and the fundamental postulates of scientifi c ethics have been formulated. The object of study is the institutions of the Siberian region, the names of which contain the name of the founder. In the scientifi c centers of Siberia there are three dozen such institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the activities of which refl ect historical milestones in the development of fundamental knowledge and scientifi c development of the region. The problem of studying such institutions must necessarily include the formation of ideas about the scientists whose names the institutes bear.
