The article presents the history of one of the largest machine-building enterprises in St. Petersburg, located on the Vyborg side. The fi rst experience of creating printing machines in Russia in the “Establishment of Printing Supplies” by G.A. Lessner, which later became a mechanical iron foundry. In the second half of the 19th century. The plant, called "Old Lessner", was re-equipped to produce steam boilers and other equipment. In connection with the expansion of production, a new plant was built, called "New Lessner", which produced the fi rst domestic cars. Keywords: G.A.
