Preparation of Territory of the Volga Water Basins for Flooding (1950–1980) E.A. Burdin In article on the basis of considerable complexes of the unpublished archival documents and others sources process of preparation of territories of four Volga water basins to flooding in 1950 – 1980. During this period of blossoming of hydrobuilding on Volga have been realised the largest on scale actions, basic of which were population resettlement, carrying over of structures, engineering protection of settlements, deforestation and sanitary clearing. Despite the big costs, saved up at creation of Verhnevolzhsky water basins in 1930th experience both administrative and material resources the state have allowed to spend the basic part of the planned works to short terms.
