History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Introduction A.Yu. Tzivadze Introductory article depicts the history of the A.N.Frumkin Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry starting from 1929 when academician V.A.Kistyakovsky organized a Colloidal-Electrochemical Laboratory. In 1934 the Laboratory increased its status to become the Colloidal-Electrochemical Institute. The main research directions, scientific schools with rich traditions and a unique experimental basis for research are described.
