Studies of Paint Materials in the Period of 1922–1940 A.R. Narsky Application of various paint materials – varnishes, paints, enamels, primers, fillers played the important role in aviation technique. Studies of the materials conducted by TsAGI and VIAM in the period of time from 1922 – from the moment of creation of the first Section on tests of aviation materials up to 1940 (in other words in the pre-war period) are divided into three stages.
