Soldatovа In article on the basis of the big file of unpublished archival sources activity of inventor-self-educated person V.N. Yemelyanov known in 1930th, after unfairly forgotten for the first time is considered. It was the author of such projects, as «the Device of a navigable sluice», «the Device for draft of bottom on a sluice», «the Vertical lift for bottom», and also the civil-engineering design on Volga hydroelectric power stations and many other things.
