History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Mikhail Nikolaevich Mikheev M.B. Rigmant The article describes the life and activity of the outstanding scientist and the leading organizer of science – the Corresponding Member of USSR Academy of Sciences Mikhail Nikolaevich Mikheev. The great part of the article describes his tremendous work on the creation of the Institute of Metal Physics awarded by the Labor Red Banner order. For many years M.N. Mikheev was the director of the Institute – the main creation of his life. Special attention is paid to the M.N. Mikheev’s work in the field of nondestructive testing, development and implementation of different equipment for magnetic structural analysis. In particular, during the years of World War II he developed and put into production the KIFM-1 coercimeter. During subsequent years this coercimeter was used by more than 200 enterprises of the USSR.
