Bakhmatov, the first head of All-Union (nowadays – All-Russia) scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) was reconstituted. By now, practically nothing was known about this many-sided talented person. The present paper prepared on the basis of archival documents (questionnaires, certificates, personal forms, extracts, curriculum vitae, characteristics, etc.) is purposed to hold our reputable compatriot in remembrance, who has devoted all his life to a selfless service to the country on labour, military and party fields.
