Polezhay The article returns into scientific the Konstantin Kaznatcheev’s journalistic heritage. K. Kaznatcheev was the editor of some educational and technical journals, the owner of a special bookstore. «Technical collection and herald of industry» and «Paper craft» played the important role in dissemination of technical knowledge, became platform for exchange of ideas for Russian engineers and technicians. Along with an array of technical articles on engineering, architecture, chemical engineering, metallurgy and other large place occupied by the publication of the non-technical nature, reviews of exhibitions, museums, news from universities, scientific-technical societies, publications on the problems of education. If surround the magazine was addressed to the Industrialists, engineers, professors of technical instituts and physico-mathematical faculties of universities, the newspaper was published for the owners and employees of small workshops, which were at that time in Russia the predominant type of production. By the beginning of the XX century K. Kaznatcheev was completely formed the infrastructure of the technical book publishing, which included the editorial office of the magazine and the newspaper, the printing-house, a book shop, book warehouses, etc. Key words: handicraft; technical; education; herald; journal; society; bookseller.
