Ischenko The article deals with the history and development of domestic instrument in a leading research center in the field of instrumentation, au-tomation and control systems – the Institute of Control Sciences named after Acad. V.A. Trapeznikov of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In a short article is not intended to make complete and extensive review of the fundamental work of the Institute and it's very important and valuable results received for the national economy. First of all, they include control of nuclear submarines, nuclear power plants, automated systems provide control of a space stations, the theory and methods of managing complex technical man-machine systems, the automation of various processes and production management. Article is based on historical documents, scientific publications, and the memories of some scientists, managers and professionals working in the field of instrumentation and that have made a significant contribution to its formation and development over the years of the last century. This work is aimed to a wide range of readers interested in the history of science and technology, and can also be useful for professionals working in the field of automation, computer, information-measuring devices and control systems, as well as for students of technical universities, technical schools and colleges.
