WOOD RESEARCHES IN CENTRAL AEROHYDRODYNAMIC INSTITUTE AND ALL-UNION SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF AVIATION MATERIALS IN 1927–1932 Narsky A.R. The basic directions of research in the use of wood for aircraft, which were conducted from 1927 to the first half of 1932 in the test de-partment of aviation materials (OIAM) Central hydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) and the second half of 1932 in the Department of aircraft wood All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM). The structure of this department were included laboratory and physical properties of wood drying, mechanical, mycological, semi-finished and group of forest raw material bases. Scientific studies have been devoted to the properties of pine, spruce, ash, maple, birch and oak. Depletion of raw material bases of the European part of the country has led to the need to study the Caucasus, Siberia and Far East timber. In a separate section of the work included the study of the drying air of wood and its mycological analysis. Section chief of research led tree OIAM TsAGI E.I.
