Development and introduction of Data Acquisition

The work describes the development of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) in IAA of RAS. The baseband converter R1200 has been developed in IAA of RAS, and then on its basis first domestic multichannel DAS R1000 is created. Its installation in Badary observatory has enabled to begin regular VLBI-observations on radio telescopes of a complex under domestic and international programs. For replacement of the out-of-date foreign systems and the decision of a problem of fundamental support of GLONASS system in IAA RAS have been developed digital baseband converters for DAS, digital radiometer with selection of a radio noise and system of registration space radio emissions in the spectral lines, successfully introduced in Svetloe and Badary observatories. The digital baseband converter became a basis of domestic DAS R1002M, which on the parameters surpasses all analog systems of such purpose existing in the world and does not concede to foreign development of digital DAS at essentially smaller cost price. R1002М systems have been installed on all radio telescopes of «Quasar» complex. It has allowed to refuse use of the out-of-date analog systems and to introduce in all observatories as the basic regular equipment identical VLBI-terminals with total speed of data recording up to 2 Gbit/s. In 2011–2012 in IAA of RAS have been developed main principles of construction of digital DAS of new generation, lead theoretical and experimental researches which have allowed developing a breadboard model of the broadband channel of such system with a digitizer on the basis of ultrafast ADC.
