History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back From History of Domestic Aviation Materials Technology Tsagi Test Department of Aviation Materials in Archival Documents (1925–1932) Narsky A.R. Some facts from history of TsAGI (Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute) test Department of aviation materials in archival documents in the period from 1925 to 1932 in which laboratories the first research works on domestic aviation materials technology were conducted are considered. On OIAM was assigned a number of tasks related to the creation of new aircraft of materials, methods of testing, development of technical standards, as well as counseling aviation industry, the provision of technical assistance and conduct testing. In 1932, all laboratories OIAM TsAGI, and there were about ten, became part of the new All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Aviation of materials (VIAM). The article is prepared on the basis of archival documents RGAE, RGVA, branch of RGANTD (Samara town), GA RF, and also it is illustrated by the photographic materials which are stored in funds of the N.E. Zhukovsky scientific and memorial museum, RGAKFD (Krasnogorsk town).
