History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Long Life of Professor K.G. Shulmeyster (on materials of the personal Fund) Bulyulina E.V. The article is devoted to Konstantin Georgievich Shulmeyster (1895–1996) – honoured worker of science of the Russian Federation, doctor of agricultural Sciences, Professor, the author of more than two hundred scientific works and Creator of a large scientific school of the scientists of several generations. He devoted his life to the most important problem combat drought and increase of productivity of agricultural crops in rainfed agriculture regions of the Volga region, southern Ural, Northern Kazakhstan and Eastern Siberia. Despite the repression and difficult circumstances biography of the scientist lived 101 year and made a significant contribution to the national agronomical science, until the last day of being engaged in scientific work and public activities. Was personally acquainted with many prominent scientists, including N.I. Vavilov. The article is written according to the unpublished documents of the personal Fund K.G. Shulmeyster being in storage in the State archive of Volgograd region.
