History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Institute for Informatics and Mathematical Modelling of Technological Processes of the Kola Science Center RAS: Formation Putilov V.A. The article presents the history of creation and development of the Institute. The events that preceded the creation of the Institute of Informatics at the Kola Scientific Center of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR are described. The documents that defined the Institute mission and main research areas of the Institute, associated with the design and development of methods and technologies for the analysis and synthesis of automated systems modeling and control, are pointed. The chronology of changes in staff and in structure of the Institute and the Institute researches and developments is presented. A team of like-minded people which capable of operating at a high scientific level was formed in the Institute in the difficult socio- economic conditions and against the background of the reforms carried out in the Academy of Sciences. The results obtained by the Institute are included each year in the reports on the most important achievements of profile department and the RAS as a whole. Formed at the Institute of Informatics scientific school on the design and development of information technology to support management of regional development in 2006 officially was recognized as one of the leading scientific schools of the Russian Federation and was supported by the grant of the President of the Russian Federation.
