Markov Jr Kushner B.A. Essay is devoted to member-correspondent of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Andrei Andreevich Markov, Junior (1903–1979), the son of the great Russian mathematician Andrei Andreevich Markov, Senior, the founder of the theory of Markov processes. A.A. Markov, Jr. is one of the founders of modern set theory, algorithm theory, mathematical logic and constructive mathematics. The founder of scientific school in the last two mentioned areas of mathematics. Since 1936, the Professor of Leningrad University, since 1959, Professor and head of Department at Moscow state University. Simultaneously since 1939 he worked in Steklov Mathematical Institute, then in the Computing Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The author of this essay, one of the closest Markov’s disciples, in an art form tells not only about mathematical achievements of Markov, Jr., but also describes his distinctive personality: such as passion for poetry and music, his caracteristic forms of communication with colleagues, friends and disciples. Monumental image of a hereditary scientist, who belonged to so-called Russian intelligentsia rises before readers.
