History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back Military and Technical Cooperation of Russia With Foreign States in the Field of Artillery Production in the Second Half of the XIX Century Bobkov V.A. On the basis of non-administered earlier in the scientific circulation of historical sources and the little-known research reconstructed features of military-technical cooperation with foreign States in the field of production of artillery in the second half of the XIX century. In the publication it is shown that from the second half of the 1850s has started a new stage in the development of weapons. The Crimean war in a certain way shifted its focus in military-technical cooperation of Russia with foreign States. Russia became interested in the military-technical cooperation not only with Britain, France and Germany, and the USA. As time showed, the interest was mutual. It is noted that Russia and previously was in dependence from foreign producers of equipment and other instruments. The use of foreign inventions in the artillery in Russia were made after exhaustive testing. Russian innovators cooperated with many foreign manufacturers of the artillery materiel. For acquisition of the necessary military-technical experience in foreign States seconded national experts. In many respects, Russia is not inferior to other States of the world, but rather has evolved in parallel. In the second half of the XIX century Russia resorted to purchasing guns. The purpose of such purchases was to investigate on the spot in Russia artillery piece and recreate a similar or better domestic analogue. Summing up it should be noted that in the second half of the XIX century the military Department of Russia actively used foreign experience in the field of development of production of its own artillery. Attended a kind of balance of domestic and foreign influence on the development of arms production. The trend is reflected in the fact that on the one hand used foreign experience, but on the other retained and accumulated own advanced achievements.
