Shafirov E.A. Burdin The article is devoted to the scientifi c work of Nicholay Gritsenko during his stay as a researcher in Ulyanovsk (1943–1953 years). Authors signifi cantly add to biographical information about him, revealed research on the history of the Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk region and the whole of the Middle Volga, which have been published in numerous local and national scientifi c and journalistic publications and periodicals. Gritsenko’s works are distinguished by a multifaceted issues, varieties of genres, in connection with it authors attempt to classify all works of the scientist on the main thematic blocks, looking closer at each of them. Also, some important points of study fi elds of researcher is analyzed: the methodological and organizational work, measures of search, fi xation and preservation of historical and cultural heritage of the Ulyanovsk region.
