KAZAN SCIENTIFIC SCHOOL IN MAGNETIC RADIOSPECTROSCOPY |

Scientifi c schools have had a serious impact on the development of physical science. A special place in the history of scientifi c schools in our country takes the Kazan scientifi c school in magnetic radiospectroscopy which was formed in the mid-twentieth century in Kazan University. It
is connected with names of graduates of this higher education institution in the beginning of the 1930th: experimenter E.K. Zavoisky, theorist S.A. Al´tshuler, physical chemist B.M. Kozyrev. In 1944 E.K. Zavoisky made physical discovery of the world signifi cance – the phenomenon of the electronic paramagnetic resonance (EPR). Thanks to this opening by E.K. Zavoisky it is possible to consider him as the founder of the Kazan scientifi c school in magnetic radiospectroscopy. The further development of investigations which were carried out by E.K. Zavoisky in cooperation with S.A. Al´tshuler and B.M. Kozyrev led to formation of the new direction in physics – magnetic radiospectroscopy. All this
facilitated the foundation of school of the Kazan physicists which in the present times is concentrated at the Kazan federal university, at the Kazan physics and technology institute of E.K. Zavoysky and Institute of organic and physical chemistry of A.E. Arbuzov.
