History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back PROFESSOR I.G. FREIMAN IS A FOUNDER OF THE NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC RADIO ENGINEERING SCHOOL L.I. Zolotinkina In the history of national science, professor Imant Georgievich Freiman became known as the creator of scientifi c radio engineering school. Many theoretical assumptions developed by him in radio engineering have become classical ones at present. I.G. Freiman performed a great amount of work on systematizing the newest for his time materials on designing and making calculations of radio devices, involving advances of both national and the world science and the results from his theoretical and practical research, and created modern terminology in radio engineering and electronics. He elaborated a concept of equipping the Navy with the system of radio apparatus. His scientifi c research work resulted in making the fi rst valve system of radio equipment for the Navy «Blockade-1». The main I.G. Freiman’s achievement is the creation of the biggest in the USSR scientifi c radio engineering school which gave impetus to development of practically all main fi elds of radio engineering and radio physics.
