History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back INSTRUMENTATION OF HYDRODYNAMICS IN THE COASTAL ZONE D.P. Kovalev, P.D. Kovalev For experimental studies of hydrodynamics and marine hazards in the coastal zone are required recorders of waves with one second sampling interval. The existing foreign and domestic gauges of this application are quite expensive, both in value and in operation. Besides the improvement component base allows to improve the operational and technical characteristics of measuring equipment. Therefore IMGG FEB RAS is constantly working to upgrade and develop new recorders of waves. Various types of hydrostatic pressure primary transducers and temperature of the water used in instruments to measure the sea waves are considered. The concrete design solutions of measuring devices with analog and piezoresonance primary transducers are provided. The article is also devoted to the description of a current state of instrument providing studies of the sea waves. Keywords: recorders of waves; hydrostatic pressure transducers.
