History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back CHEMISTRY OF XVIII CENTURY IN RUSSIA S.K. Kovaleva The beginnings of the national chemistry dated back to XVIII century when Petersburg Academy of Sciences was based. According to the plan of Pеter fi rst Academy would «produce the sciences» and «reproduce them among people». For fulfi lling this plan the great resources of the Russian scientists are demanded.
