THE RESULTS OF MICROMECHANICAL INSTRUMENTS DEVELOPMENT FOR FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEMS |

This article presents the results of developing the single and three-axis angular rates and linear acceleration measuring instruments, rate gyro unit and attitude and heading reference systems, based on micromechanical gyroscopes and accelerometers, conducted by JSC «Moscow Institute of Electromechanics and Automatics».
The instruments are designed for use in integrated flight control systems on а vast range of aircraft types, such as civil and military aircraft and helicopters, UAVs, cruise missiles. Moreover, they can be effectively used for space systems, land and sea-based vehicles. The instruments successfully passed ground tests, and many of them – fl ight tests as well. The results of these tests demonstrated considerable outperform of the developed instruments over similar series-produced instruments in terms of maintainability, several times less electrical power consumption and improved accuracy performance. The article shows the micromechanical instruments development phases and status and provides the new instruments main performance and fl ight tests results. The instruments follow-on development study program is mapped out, including The Import Substitution Programme.
