SKRYABIN INSTITUTE OF BIOCHEMISTRY AND PHYSIOLOGY OF MICROORGANISMS, RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES – MICROBIAL BIOSENSORS AND BIOFUEL CELLS A.N. Reshetilov, T.A. Reshetilova This review represents the main results of the studies that were carried out at G.K. Skryabin Institute of biochemistry and physiology of microorganisms (Laboratory of biosensors) setting up fundamental bases and developing microbial biosensor analyzers. This work highlights possibilities and outlooks for practical implementation of microbial biosensors for analysis of a wide range of organic compounds such as carbohydrates, alcohols, xenobiotics. Currently important directions of the studies for the development of microbial biofuel cells are discussed.
