Nikolaev This article describes several pages from the history of activities in the fi eld of mass spectrometry, performed at ICP, USSR Academy of Sciences (INEPCP USSR Academy of Sciences) in the middle and at the end of the last century, which played a large role in creating the modern techniques of mass spectrometry in Russia and in the world. The author outlines his personal point of view in evaluating the relevance of results and tells the story in first person about those works, in which he took part.
