TECHNOLOGICAL MODERNIZATION OF THE AIRCRAFT BUILDING INDUSTRY OF THE USSR IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE 1940S–1950S |
M.Yu. Mukhin
In the second half of the 1940s–1950s, the Soviet aviation industry faced the need to consistently go through two stages of qualitative renewal of the products. Already in the second half of the 1940s, the USSR faced the task of mass production of all-metal turbojet aircraft. Since the mid-1950s, the Soviet aviation industry was required to ensure the production of supersonic aircraft. All this naturally required a qualitative technological update of the aircraft industry as a whole. The subject of this article was the main trends of this complex and ambiguous process.
Keywords: aviation industry; cold war; innovations; technical modernization; jet aircraft engineering; machine building.
