Timofeev, A.A. Timofeev Based on the analysis of historical information on the use of concrete as a building material, the prerequisites for the emergence of monolithic construction are formulated. The stages of the development of the technology of erecting buildings from concrete are considered, starting from ancient times to the present. The advantages of monolithic construction are shown, which are the reason for increasing its volumes in comparison with prefabricated, brick and panel construction.
