Fedorov The article is devoted to the modern view on the issue of the origin and introduction of reinforced concrete in the global construction industry. The level of scientifi c and technical progress in construction materials science at the time of the appearance of this material is considered. Little-known information is given on Brunel, Lambo, Coignet, Wilkinson and Stackenschneider, who made a signifi cant contribution in this direction.
