History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back KABARD TRADE IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX – BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURIES T.A. Dzughanov The article explores the main points related to the development of trade relations in Kabarda in the late XIX–early XX century. An attempt is made to study the specifi cs of the emergence and modernization of entrepreneurial practices in Russia's peripheral regions by the example of the Nalchik District of the Terek Region. It is established that in the post–reform period the market is gradually drawing into its orbit not only the Russian immigrants of Kabarda, but also the mountaineers, who are actively adopting new forms of economic management, increasing the marketability of their products. The Kabardian economy is beginning to rebuild and is increasingly being built into market relations. It is noted that one of the peculiarities of Kabardian trade in this period is a noticeable superiority in the rates of its growth, which considerably outstripped the development of the handicraft industry. It is concluded that the key role in the formation and development of trade relations in Kabarda in the late XIX–early XX centuries. Played socio–economic reforms of the 60's.
