History of Science and Engineering Annotation << Back ANTHROPOLOGY OF MOVEMENT: THEORY, METHODOLOGY, PRACTICE A.V. Golovnev, E.V. Perevalova, N.A. Babenkova A new research discipline – the anthropology of movement, which formed a methodological basis for a whole series of academic and applied research projects, has been developed at the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Urals Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences under the supervision of member of the RAS A.V. Golovnev from the early 2000s. The anthropology of movement opening a new aspect for the study and monitoring of the life of man and society in the units and categories of action, in the combination of the dynamics and the statics offers an opportunity to see many of the key phenomena in anthropology, ethnology, history, archeology, and geopolitics in a new light. The development of the concept of anthropology of movement was mentioned as one of the outstanding achievements of the RAS in 2009. The article presents a brief outline of the theoretical foundations, concepts, and methodology of the anthropology of movement and offers examples of their practical implementation in real life projects.
